III. Initial NAPAKool™ Treatment The cooling system must PRE-CHARGED with NAPAKool™ to provide the proper, initial strength of inhibitors. Add NAPAKool™ directly to the cooling system as indicated on the chart below. The system should already contain a mixture of 50% suitable water and 50% glycol based antifreeze. The system’s antifreeze concentration should not be lower than 40% or higher than 60%. IV. Regular Service Interval A. Line Haul, High Mileage Vehicles – At every 15,000 miles, add NAPAKool™ as indicated below. B. Low Mileage Trucks, Stationary Engines, Marine Units – Add NAPAKool™ after each 250 hours of operation as follows: System Capacity 17-80 Quarts Over 80 Quarts NAPAKool™ to be Added 1 Pint 1 Pint for every 20 Gallons or Fraction Thereof The NAPA Additive Free Mechanical Coolant Filter Even if we didn’t manufacture filters, we would recommend the use of a mechanical filter for the cooling system. Core sand is always a possibility in an engine. Scale build-up prior to the use of NAPAKool™ can break loose causing system problems. While NAPAKool™ will keep your cooling system clean, it won’t clean it all by itself! That’s why we recommend our low cost, additive free mechanical filter (part number 4070) as part of every cooling system. Part number 4069 can be used where space limitations may be a concern. Additive free type filters are to be used either in systems where our liquid NAPAKool™ SCA is being used or where antifreeze, either new or recycled with SCAs already in it, is being used. The additive free filters are NOT to be used in systems using just water or just water and antifreeze.
